New competitive challenges require paying attention to innovation development. To realize technology transfer, collaborative relationships among firms, universities, public institutions take a great importance. In author’s opinion, these relationships can be supported and facilitated by Science and Technology Parks (STPs). The author analyzes two Italian STPs considered as benchmarks in Italian and international context. The research puts attention to the ability of STPs to promote innovation only through the shift from a net of tenants to a network of several organizations characterized by relational spatiality.
