Cyber droghe e binaural beats: gli stati non convenzionali di coscienza nell’era delle tecnologie digitali - Binaural beats are the brand new cyber drug. They consist of the application of two different frequencies separately presented to the left and right ears which influences the bioelectrical brain activity thanks to the phenomenon of frequency following response. According to the induced synchronization level many effects have been observed (alterations of consciousness steady state, reduction of sleep requirement, anxiety mitigation, learning improvement) thanks to the release of specific neurochemical mediators, such as dopamine and beta-endorphin. A particular software, named I-Doser, for the production of binaural beats has been created; it is very easy to get because it is available online as a free download. Keywords: cyber drug, binaural beats, frequency following response.
