Learning and teaching in the present context. The article’s starting point is the basic distinction between "teaching" and "learning": teaching deals with a control-based and hetero-directed perspective that considers knowledge as objectivized and deliverable; learning deals with subjectivity, necessarily self-reflective and characterized by an autonomous consideration of the learner. Learning is reflection-in-action, therefore critical reflection, able to challenge basic assumptions ruling the interpretation of the reality towards a significant trans-formation. Learning foundation is the aptitude of learning by experience and errors. The difficulty of learning by errors and experience derives from the subject’s inner world. Therefore the human knowledge depends on deep emotional and affective factors involved in each relation and experience.
