Narrative Medicine tends to leave aside the sickscape, i.e. the social representation of illness. This is a failed opportunity for two reasons: avoiding the sickscape makes ill and illness de-socialized and there is no possibility for managing the stigma that characterizes many diseases: health, disease and death can not be reduced to their organic evidence, because they are influenced by society; social context produces social representation of illness that adversely affect the illness experiences, which are Nbm subject of interest: stigma and its management is particularly complicated in cases of invisible disease. Aim of this contribution is the discussion of these two points.

Keywords: Sickscape, Illness, Social representation, Invisibility, Stigma, Credibility.
