Volunteer organisations as education players, in connection to the school system, is becoming more and more important for young students. In the paper is drawn a short profile of volunteer organisations as grassroots welfare points in our local communities; organised volunteering is described as educational agency; finally, operating lines are described, connecting school action with volunteering actions, in order to fight school dropouts and adolescent exclusion and in order to promote citizenship education.
