Some media sources generate society’s living law, quite apart from its more strictly juridical dimension. This article sets out to analyse the role played by the media in "building" the law: when the law is narrated by the media, it shapes the framework within which viewers make their own "legal interpretations". This is because the interpretation of media narratives suggests a certain approach to knowing the law. It is important to bear in mind how these media sources concur with the thinking, the images and the words that are generated in human interactions outside the media in everyday life. We are a combination of media fantasy and real life, two dimensions that we touch on constantly as they cross one another’s paths. That is why the reality of the legal system as a sphere of law is constantly crossing paths with the face put on it by the media, which determine a certain way of imagining what the law is.
