Beauty emerges at the same time within us and in the relational experiences. In the search of the sense and the meaning of beauty, this paper starts from the assumption that beauty may be, at last, understood as a feeling of embodied resonance, which either confirms or extends the neurophenomenology model of the self. So it seems to emerge, present itself and feel the beauty with a double process, internal and external. The same physical and bodily dynamic can lead to experiences of terror and horror, if those experiences affect or threaten the way to feel in life and the world. The arousal or activation is probably the basis of the tension related to the experience of beauty, and it is crucial to study the threshold by which development depends on the accessibility and beauty. The hypothesis defended in this paper is that accessibility to beauty, intended as an adequate expression of our inner world in relation to others and the world, is both possible and difficult, because beauty is ambiguous and accessing it enhances its opposite. It does not overcome nor eliminate it. The more the light intensifies, the greater the separation from its shadow; the margins become borders, more difficult to traverse. The higher the experience of beauty that presents itself, the more the possibility and the space of meaning and the language to access the internal request seem to reduce themselves: that access demands an opening to the immediacy of the unspeakable and at the same time reduces the resilience of the balances and the sense of existing orders, enhancing their reassuring value.
