In the severe and traumatic separations one can lose everything. In this situations we are aided by the removal and the denial. But you can place in the object, which you are separating from, some elements of the Self that will keep it live and will be a continuing tension between subject and object. In the movie, this is represented by the tattoo and by a little singsong that coincides with the birth of a child while you are traumatically separating him from. These two elements are factors that represent the trauma, but they also are functions of a life link toward a son who had been searched and finally found. The movie suggests that the severity of the contents of the processes, as traumatic and terrible, is however secondary compared with the importance of the vitality of the processes.
