Micro-analysis suggests to analysts a clear change of perspective: from the primacy of words to that of non-verbal communication. It is a startling but potentially creative novelty that opens the way to new conceptions of the mind. By watching the flow of procedural exchange we are immersed in we can easily say that mind and body are confused in it and become one single thing. Therapeutic action as seen in this context oscillates between reliance and conscious choice but the object to which it is addressed can no longer be conceived as a separate mind and appears as a dyadic (or polyadic) system that tends to a progressive complexification. The author links a few personal experiences in his relationship with a snatcher magpie with the experiences told by Roger Fouts about his interactions with chimpanzees and with the therapeutic technique presented by Alexandra Harrison.
