The article provides an example of the systemic approach in teenagers counselling. The short treatment of the cases reported by the authors allows to focus on some important aspects of the systemic practice: the contract, the distinction between customer and beneficiary, the instruments to be used, the importance of being acquainted with the locally available facilities. The choices of the counsellor lead back to the basic tools of the systemic practice such as the self narrative approach, the use of metaphors, the close attention to bonds and resources of the subject, the redefinition of interactions in a circular perspective, the practical application of the complex concept of paradox. All the above is meant to introduce change and create a new "lease on life" in teenagers, closely interrelated with the subject’s request.
