The present article examines the meaning of the Galileian locution "sensata esperienza" within an experimental phenomenological perspective. After considering the philological data, two interpretations of the expression "sensata esperienza" are discussed in reference to: i) the phenomenalistic approach and ii) the physical point of view. These interpretations do not resolve the following Galilean aporia: the "sensata esperienza", a very important epistemological tool for Galileo, can often be disproved. For instance, the Copernican theory is the opposite of what it appears. The experimental phenomenological perspective offers a possible theoretical way to explain the aporia.
Keywords: Galileo Galilei, "sensata esperienza", experimental phenomenology; scientific observation, copernican theory."
