A book on the Shroud written by syndonologist Emanuela Marinelli and by Livio Zerbini, university researcher of Roman history, is presented as being grounded on historical evidence, featuring so far unpublished texts, comprehensive and innovative. It really does not contain any new information, as it is largely a collection of previous writings by Marinelli and other syndonologists. One cannot possibly appreciate what the role of the second author was. Contrary to what is declared, the style is partisan, apologetic and devotional.
Keywords: Emanuela Marinelli, Livio Zerbini, Shroud of Turin, mandylion of Edessa, islamic sources.
