With the entry into force of the Republican Constitution and the enunciation of the principle of the school open to all, the legislator was forced to outline an education system capable of encompassing the various forms of diversity present in reality to favor the process of per-sonal growth and self-fulfillment and the social partici-pation of everybody. The path taken by our system since the 1970s towards the construction of an inclusive school has revealed a progressive attention to the sever-al areas of vulnerability present in the student popula-tion, devising measures capable of compensating for the initial disadvantage in favor of the need for equity and of justice. The variety of situations of need within our classrooms then led to the extension of the guarantees of didactic flexibility outside the original areas of interest, stimulating a reflection on the relevance of traditional paradigms and questioning the completeness of our in-clusive model.
