The article addresses the centrality of the concept of health as a complex construct and argues that it should be considered a common good. This view aligns with the One health approach, which emphasizes an inclusive and comprehensive understanding of health. Psychology finds its consistent place within this framework. However, there is a crucial need to develop a role for community psychologists to contribute to community wel- fare actively, promoting health and well-being and focusing on prevention and early intervention. In a historical moment marked by an increasing reli- ance on psychopharmacology and a struggling mental health system, we look towards European experiences. These experiences highlight the importance of strengthening Primary Care to also combat the stigma associated with mental health issues. It is well-established that the presence of a psycholo- gist is an investment in the quality of Primary Care. The article emphasizes the importance of maintaining both a clinical focus and an awareness of the community dimension. A Primary Care psychologist, as part of a system that connects them to various levels of care as outlined by the Corporate Psychol- ogy Function, will be tasked with ensuring timely access to psychological assistance. In partnership with different stakeholders, they will also promote psychological well-being in real-life contexts and communities.
