Pietro Barucci (Rome, 1922-2023) played a key role in the metamorphosis of Italian architecture in the late twentieth century, not only in terms of design research, but also in the role of architects in the urban planning process through public housing. He was among the designers most involved in Italian mass housing – from the ina-casa experience to the crisis of public construction – as well as in the network of large real estate companies. This contribution aims to retrace his professional history from a monographic perspective, starting with what can be considered his last project: the promotion of his professional archive through a dedicated website and a series of autobiographical writings.
