This contribution offers a pedagogical reflection on Legislative Decree No. 62 of May 3, 2024, adopting the Quality of Life (QoL) paradigm as both an epistemological framework and an operative perspective for the construction of the Life Project. The aim is to highlight the transformative potential of the legislative framework in enabling pathways that are genuinely personalized and inclusive.
Through a critical-interpretative approach, the decree is examined as a generative space of educational possibilities, oriented towards selfdetermination, participation, and the recognition of persons with disabilities as active agents in shaping their own life trajectories. Within this perspective, the concept of alignment is introduced, understood as an intentional process of coherence between individual functioning, Quality of Life domains, project objectives, life contexts, and systems of evaluation. Three main levels of alignment are identified: the integrated reading of the Functioning Profile with the Quality of Life domains; the consistency between intervention objectives and the overall architecture of the Life Project; and the interrelation between life contexts, educational practices, and monitoring processes. These dimensions configure a pedagogical framework capable of translating the normative framework into practices of quality, restoring to the Life Project its deepest meaning: a continuous process of identity, relational, and participatory construction.
