This paper aims to examine the capacity of labour law to ensure employment stability within the framework of the green transition and to contribute to the implementation of a Just transition. The first objective is to assess whether the legal framework imposes on the employer a duty to provide training to employees in cases of greenoriented corporate restructuring, and whether a breach of such a duty may restrict the employer’s power to dismiss. Secondly, the paper explores the various measures available to companies to reduce the costs associated with workforce training during ecological business transformation. Based on a combined analysis of these two areas, the author argues that the challenge of a Just transition calls for the introduction of a right to vocational training capable of both limiting the exercise of the employer’s dismissal power and encouraging firms to make use of financial support tools aimed at workforce reskilling.
Keywords: Green Transition; Just Transition; Vocational Training; Employment Stability; Dismissal; Training Funding.
