AB -  The paper discusses the role of autobiographical narratives in everyday storytelling. After explaining definitions and concepts, it underlines how differences do exist in forms and in functions of autobiographical narratives which emerge in different cultures. It focuses on the relevance of the relationship between the storyteller and his/her listener, showing how the tales do result from their cooperation.
