This article analyzes some innovative practices in the production of welfare services in two marginal municipalities of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano. The local activation of Third Sector organizations allows to counteract the potential social risks associated with the lack of services related to assistance to children and the elderly In a Province with a strong vocation for a public welfare, these initiatives constitute micro-experiences of intertwining policies between the public and the third sector for the production of welfare services in marginal areas based on the support of networks between associations, social cooperatives, non-profit, local citizens and busi- nesses. The analysis is based on two qualitative case studies.
