The District System between Industry and Agriculture - Lettura addresses two themes, namely why agricultural economists are taking an interest in the idea of the industrial district, and the possibility of extending the district approach to the study of agricultural phenomena. On the first point the paradoxical conclusion appears to be that, at least potentially, the agricultural economists arrived at the idea of the agro-industrial district before the industrial economists. On the second point the conclusion is that there are affinities and differences to take into account, but it may be useful to explore the possibility of extending the industrial district theory to certain agricultural contexts.
