A critical approach on Harrington thought considering his methodological key to show economical determinism before Marx. In definitive: a new and innovation strategy to interpret english society of his century. Putting aside middle class world advancing to advantage his aristocratic wisdom, Harrington is definitively in contrast with opposite Hobbes and Mandeville’s drawing up of thought. By political, economical and educational changes he tries his analysis to contrast proprietor and competitive individualism, and want to build a new model of society based on agrarian law and a false balance guaranteed to ancient prudence. So he betrays his original method of economical balance, the following consequences of that, putting himself as a member refined of Machiavellian tradition. To complete research Marxian opposition, historical logic and reality one, aid to comprehend harringtonian republicanism in its contradictory solution.
