The above mentioned clinic case is being commented in a cognitive-evolutionist view, as well as supported by an EMDR approach in the treatment of traumatic experiences. Organizing the case in terms of dysfunctional Internal Operative Models and using the EMDR to revise Nico’s memories of his infantile traumatic experiences, could foster a reduction in dissociation as well as an integration of those events into a self-cohesive and self- integrated individual.
