This article examines four books published between 2018 and 2020 that deal with the history of the Jews in contemporary Italy from different perspectives such as the political role of the Jews in liberal Italy and during the Great War, the history of persecution during the Fascist era, the problematic advent of the Republic, the depiction of the Jews and Israel in Italian leftwing parties and movements, and the more general perception of Israel in the Italian political and cultural world.
