This paper analyzes the topic of safety at work making an examination of some of the most important managerial and measurement aspects. The first part of the paper focuses on the effects of safety management in terms of effectiveness, competitiveness and financial results. The second part focuses on the theme of measurement and in particular on the issue of accidents costs by providing an introductory analysis of some of the main methods available in the literature
