Through a short outline about the historical and philosophical motivations that have led the origin of the dichotomy mindbody, takes shape the course that has led to the birth of the psychoanalysis and of the psychosomatic. The psychoanalysis was born from the necessity to treat a symptomatology clinically relevant, but that avoided every nosographical and anathomopathological classification so, a proper expression of a psychological sufferance that expressed itself through physical manifestations. Nevertheless the so-called psychosomatic medicine, locating in the psychological process the etiology of some kind of illness, just moves the center of the matter: from the causes purely somatic to psychological ones, but the patient is still on the background. The epistemological and theoretical elements which could take to confute the proper expression of the psychosomatic medicine, are underlined. On the other hand, there isn’t a patient that, during the analysis, doesn’t use his body like a vehicle of the symptoms and, at the same time, there isn’t a patient that doesn’t express to his physician his psychological trouble. In fact the relationship that put in a central position the suffering person, is the central element of the cure of every illness that a Man could suffer. To get this outcome is necessary that the operator (physician or psychologist) subjects his-self to a continuous formation that consents to take care of his-self and to take care of the sufferance of the person.
