Community resilience: a review - There is a growing research interest on the meaning and implication of the concept of community resilience from a variety of disciplinary perspectives. and from a variety of disciplinary perspectives. This review analyses the definitions and the existing models of the construct of community resilience. The construct of community resilience has been analyzed and differentiated from similar constructs such as community competence and empowerment. Norris et al. (2008) conceptualized community resilience as a set of networked adaptive capacities. Their model posits that community resilience emerges from four primary sets of adaptive capacities: economic development, social capital, information and communication, and community competence. Implications for interventions in the context of communities are discussed.
