This contribution presents a written commentary by an orthodox psychoanalyst (from orthodox school) to a clinical case treated by a gestalt psychotherapist. Four divergent elements between the two methods are shown: diagnosis, time of treatment, use of action in psychotherapy setting, and the conclusion of clinical work. Even if divergent aspects specific to the peculiarities of each approach are evident, dialogue between them is clearly possible. This offers an opportunity for mutual recognition between these modalies since are both solid in their scientific and epistemological foundations.
