Psychoanalysis, community psychiatry, social welfare. convergences, controversies and new perspectives. the 180 - Law has released mentally ill people from asylums. A lot of new problems have originated as a consequence. Above all, it has created confusion in mental health workers, who are swinging between discouragement and megalomania. It is very useful, in this respect, the new concept of recovery, which means rehabilitation, but non necessarily clinical recovery. The traditional approach is thus overturned, with a shifting of focus from the illness to the person and a steady resurfacing of hope, personal agency and mastery.
