In the history of gender difference of sex is always accompanied by a marked asymmetry of power in favour of man. Only in recent decades have grown widespread movement of women emancipation and development of a culture of gender equality. Even the field of family ther- apy has been crossed by these movements and feminist criticism has taken shape in the development of a gender oriented family therapy (gender sensitive). The family represents one of the places where most weight this difference and the differences of gender and sex are one of the keystones for the development of identity. An overall look at differences in gender and sex in society suggests that contemporary culture can develop a relationship of interdependence between gender and sex.
