The influencing power of the psychoanalyst and the truth of his method - The importance of the influencing power of the psychoanalyst on the patient is emphasized and considered of great therapeutic value. Suggestion was extremely important in Freud’s thinking, but has been undervalued by the mainstream of the psychoanalytic tradition. In the same time, psychoanalysis tried to be part of natural sciences and lost its link with social sciences and the humanities. The therapeutic skill of the analyst is strictly related to his "clairvoyance" and fantasy life with which he anticipates the patient’s wishes and inner world. The therapist’s technique is also strictly related to his cultural background, beliefs, social status, and theoretical orientation. Contemporary psychoanalysis has been "sterilized" by a form of "desexualization" and a shift of attention from the patient’s inner world to the importance of the mother as mere "container" or attachment figure.

Keywords: Suggestion, influencing power of the psychoanalyst, psychoanalytic theory of the interaction, "clairvoyance" of the analyst, desexualization of contemporary psychoanalysis
