The phenomenon is characterized by great complexity and rapid transformation, so the authors decided to consider one specific aspect: social networks. In particular, they have focused on individual and family situation of Nigerian women, who accepted to enter in social protection programmes. This paper aims to provide an initial analysis on disability and social resources through two descriptive and projective instruments: genogram and symbolic drawing of the family life space. The principal finding is a difference between the family structure described in the first instrument and individual experience depicted in the second. According to the authors, this discrepancy may reflect the difference between social support networks and the specific subjective experience of the subject free from negative influences deriving from "invisible loyalties".
