Celebrating the Italian edition of Guilt and guilt feeling by Martin Buber, the author points out some fundamental aspects that differentiate the philosopher’s thought from the humanistic movement in psychotherapy. He points out two main questions that arise from that lecture: first, can we consider guilt as part of the psychological horizon, or its existential and ethical nature is unreachable for psychotherapy? Second, how can the psychotherapist meet her/his patient in an authentic existential attitude without losing her/his method, role and, at the end, her/himself? These questions are proposed as basic topics for psychotherapeutic work and its development.
