In the present work the author considers infertility as an expression of a particular relational condition of the couple. This thought arises from the therapy with an infertile couple which after adopting a child succeeds in becoming pregnant with their own son. The analysis points out how the couple’s complex ways of colluding can affect a physiological regulation through a determinate emotional regulation, suggesting that infertility is the symptom of a psychosomatic relationship.
