Currently in the Italian society, the blended family represent a reality more and more widespread. This fact takes the field of family psychotherapy to inquire about what’s a recomposed family, and what’s its structure. In this article the authors approach the subject by using their experiences during a family therapy with a blended family. The research for the new structure forces the therapeutic system to review its own constraint and to find new tools and strategies to turn them into resources. The child himself, through his symptoms, suggests the new direction to take which requires to each one a renegotiation of the rules and roles.
Keywords: Blended family, family structure, parenting, constraint and resources
