Much has been written in the last years about links within the family with a patient suffering from anorexia nervosa. These papers have tried to analyse the relation with the maternal figure, whereas the paternal figure remained for a long time in the background . In this article I’ll try to focus the nature of the link existing between the patient and his father, stressing the importance of his function in the onset of the anorexic pathology.
