Two interesting films are proposed since offer the clinician the opportunity to discuss with the concept of trauma in developmental age by addressing the complexity of different angles from PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder). Genova - Un luogo per ricominciare, the 2008 film by Michael Winterbottom, present us, trough the story of a family, the appearance and evolution in the youngest daughter of the PTSD as diagnostic manual. Mysterious skin, the 2004 film by Gregg Araki, based on Scott’s Heim novel, takes us on very intensive, sometimes raw, trough the parallel stories of two teenagers and simultaneously perpendicular, to reflect on the limits of the manuals in considering the essence of trauma, from the Greek titroskein, abuse, indicating a wound, a laceration and possible outcomes the trauma experienced in childhood can have across the time.
