This paper offers some enimations to deal with trauma according to gestalt psychotherapy. Besides the gestalt theory, the NOVA protocol is presented, as a tool which, together with photos, helps to create an autobiographic story of the traumatic experience and to overcome it. Soon after a session is reported in which R., a client, who has had various traumatic experiences, feels the telling of herself in a new way, and shares with the therapist a novel manner to be-with in their relationship. This allows her to experience contact-making in a spontaneous way.
