The concept of diversity when applied to individual often takes a negative meaning. From the psychological prospective it expresses a view that members of majority groups have towards minority groups. The category of people with a mental disease, perhaps more than others, is subjected to prejudice, and the consequent process of stigmatization is to produce a "second illness" that interferes in the process of care and recovery. The group interventions on the specific issue of diversity are an effective tool to face this situation. This work has the aim to recognize some guiding principles that the authors have identified during operational practice with groups.
