Saying hello has long been a significant tool of social inclusion and proactive recognition of others. In this sense, it can be seen as the primeval, founding act of the construction of society and of the bonds of solidarity, as well as an indicator of culture and civilisation. In the global era, however, this social practice has lost out in pregnancy and meaning, especially in metropolitan areas that feature environmental, economic and socio-institutional decay. Saying hello constitutes a specific tool of territorial intelligence that is useful for running a check in social practice on the ability to inspire trust and trigger social relations.
