The author analyses some stereotypes of aging, i. e. lost youth, avarice, the use of money, the generation gap, the falling in love for a young, the aging being itself a pathology, during the centuries. We can also point out examples of positive, creative aging, as Luigi Cornaro (1484?-1566) or Bonaccorso di Pietro Velluti (XIII cent.) ergobiographies show us. The historians can remind us the role of humanities: the psychologists (as humanists) play a prime role, to promote the development of positive aging.
Keywords: Aging, history, stereotypes, creativity.
