Ci sono quattro tesi di Frege che hanno dato origine a due ampi dibattiti; in ciascuno si asserisce che vi sia un conflitto fra due di queste tesi. In entrambi i dibattiti compare una versione di una di queste tesi chiamato spesso "il principio di Frege". Questo è il Principio di Composizionalità ovvero la tesi che le componenti di un asserto corrispondono alle parti del pensiero da esso espresso. Secondo l’autrice, non c’è stato ancora alcun tentativo di esaminare e discutere queste quattro tesi in connessione tra loro invece che all’interno di due distinti dibattiti. Questo saggio si propone di iniziare questo esame.
