By focusing on the Bernau Manuscripts (1917-18), this essay challenges the sharp distinction between a noetic-noematic, and therefore purely formal phenomenology of time and a purely material phenomenology of the primal hylé. Starting from the critical discussion of the two main interpretation of inner-time consciousness - namely, the one by Brough-Sokolowski and the one by Zahavi - the author shows how the aim of husserlian phenomenology of time is to go beyond the level of immanent temporality and therefore to reach the ultimate constitutive level of pre-immanent temporality [part I]. On this level, a different form of noetic-noematic correlation can be found and described by means of what the author calls a "phenomenological construction", which Husserl develops precisely in his Bernau Manuscripts [part II]. This construction has two sides: the noetic one and the noematic one. The first one can be understood as a primal process with a "nuclear structure", while the description of the second one introduces a new interpretation of the relationship bewteen noema and hylé through the concept of "noematic form"[part III].
