The paper by Bosio & Lozza confirms that it is time to address systematically the professionalization process of psychologists by considering both the effects of new implicit and explicit social needs and the deep changes of labor market on professional practices. This means that: a) the range of the psychological intervention needs to be extended in order to fit the real problems faced by people; b) it is necessary to take cognizance of many professional profiles belonging both to traditional and new social contexts; c) it is important to early adopt a scientist/practitioner’s perspective which is competence-based, in order to facilitate and redesign both the initial training and the lifelong learning of the psychologist.
Keywords: Professionalization, Competences, Training redesign.
