The author questions the notion of time: is time engendered by a subjective perception? Does time derive from a phenomenological stance? The German philosopher Franz Brentano, among others, studied this topic. The author - rereading Brentano’s renowned book "Psychology from an Empirical Standpoint" - examines the notion of "awareness of an inner perception of time" and analyses Brentano’s influence on the work of Edmund Husserl, as well as on Sigmund Freud’s thoughts.
Keywords: Time, intentionality, phenomenology, Freud, psychology.
