The field of clinical research is one of the field of greater theoretical relevance. Several areas belong to it, such as the validation studies, the calibration of tests, the in-depth valuation on psychological and / or psychopathological processes of the subject through the use of psycho-diagnostic tools. Despite the sexual psychometric tests currently represent a unique tool in the evaluation and follow-up treatment of patients with sexual dysfunction, they should not substitute the patient anamnesis but should be used as a guide. In our country, recent studies estimate that, to date, disorders related to sexuality affect 16 million Italians (il Fatto Quotidiano.it, Rossi, 2014), accounting for 26.35% of the Italian population in the reference year: the article shows how the Italian landscape has contributed considerably to sexological tests validating numerous psycho-diagnostic tools on the territory or in Italian language which aim to assess, in an objective way, the various sexual dysfunctions. Following a reasoned list of the principal validated and/or created tests in Italy.
Keywords: Sexual history, psychometric measurement, sexual disorders, Italian sexology tests, validated test list, FISS Research.
