A refugee father and a father who adopted two refugees kids without father: through two fieldworks, the Authors give voice to the common traumatic past, faced as a transition through the pain, and not as a penalizing aspect labeling as victims, in order to become aware of his own strengths. Refugees official programs often neglect apparently strong fathers who seem not to need help. The intervention described gives back to them attention and enables them to discover their own resources.
Keywords: Refugee fathers, trauma, immigration, vulnerability, resilience, helping relationship.
