The author supposes a particular type of countertranference that is activated in her by the time between the once a week sessions during a psychoanalytic psychotherapy. Due to the perceptual saturation in the vis-à-vis session, she has like a fluctuating attention to the patient. Between the vis-à-vis sessions, when the patient is not in front of her, she has a kind of rêverie that helps her to understand more deeply the relationship with the patient in the next sessions. Some clinic flashes are done to exemplify her hypothesis.
Keywords: Psychoanalytic psychotherapy, countertranference, once a week session, perceptual saturation, fluctuating attention in patient’s absence, rêverie in patient’s presence.
