Starting from a case, the author explains the importance and the need to recognize and accept moral questions that are implicitly or explicitly raised by patients during therapy. If patients’ moral issues are not taken into account, the therapist, would not risk of losing the unreachable neutrality; however, he could support a wide- spread contemporary anthropological point of view that, due to its characteristics, is considered unhealthy. This article sets itself as a guideline for the work on patients’ moral questions where a path of awareness and a step-by-step intervention is suggested.
Keywords: Psychotherapy; Moral Questions; Moral Responsibility; Moral Neutrality.
