Beginning with a reflection on the adolescent condition in today’s society, this article presents a summary of the main works of Gestalt authors about adolescence. In a phenome-nological field prospective, this period of life is characterized by many modifications of the self that for Gestalt authors necessarily involve the teenager, her/his family and the society in which s/he lives. It shows a paradigm of care that looks at the need for adolescents to be recognized and loved in their intentions to contact the other. These epistemological principles guide the therapist’s work both at clinical and preventive level.
Keywords: Gestalt therapy with adolescents, clinical interventions in adolescence, prevention, self functions, teenage desensitisation, Gestalt therapy care paradigm, aesthetic relational perspective.
