The text is a critical discussion of a theme that is at the center of Judith Butler’s recent reflection: the leap of performative quality represented by the new appearance of the body in the political field through the experience of collective movements. Crucial issue, which different authors (from Le Bon to Canetti to Laclau) had faced as a discontinuous passage from the individual body to the mass body. Through Butler, the analysis reads the "body alliance" as opening a transit from the exposure of the vulnerability to the emergence of a new concept of People. Democracy is therefore not only a multifaceted "signifier" but a ground for philosophical and political struggle.
Keywords: Body, Identity, People, Power, Solidarity, Vulnerability.
